John Wade January 13, 2012, 1:58 pm Holding the employee accountable (loss of employment) is one way to stop these incidents. It wouldn't take too many public comments about how exmployee x lost their job because they chose to violate the patient's rights to stop these.
Samir Shukla January 11, 2012, 9:29 pm This nurse needs to be charged with, at the very least, theft of hospital property and the patient's personal property. It is well-established that the chart belongs to the patient and he/she has the right to do what he/she wants with it. This act is stealing one's dignity and needs to be disciplined with more than a mere pink slip.
raettien January 5, 2012, 11:22 am This incident is so disturbing. What is going on in the raising of children and in education institutions that even the thought of doing what this man did is allowed? The Golden Rule is no longer the standard for too many health care providers. So many in the health care field have not embraced the core value of why we are in the field. It is all about the patient! I have to believe that this person was discharged from his job and reported to whatever state agency is responsible for his license. The public needs to be protected from him and the victim of this violation of patient privacy should be compensated. Just saying.
