New business offers to match providers with the appropriate telehealth programs

A new business is offering to connect providers, insurance companies and large businesses with wellness plans to the appropriate telehealth program to help manage home-care services for people with chronic conditions.

Advanced TeleHealth Solutions is looking to facilitate home-based care for people with chronic conditions by matching the provider with the appropriate program, according to the Springfield, Mo.-based company’s press release. The company plans to match, monitor and manage the entire process, from technology selection to care implementation.

"Thousands of patients and clients have benefitted from better patient outcomes, cost savings from technology, reduced readmissions and more efficient operations with our telehealth services,” said company founder Karen Thomas, president of Oxford HealthCare, an affiliate of Cox Health, in a press release. “For example, we monitored patients with chronic illnesses over an extended period of time and with our services saw a 73 percent reduction in the number of days in the hospital and a 54 percent reduction in overall costs of care. Introducing Advanced TeleHealth Solutions ensures our clients will continue to benefit from improved health management during a time when every dollar counts.”

Thomas, who launched Oxford HealthCare in 1974 and began offering telehealth services to clients in southwest Missouri in 2000, recently launched a partnership with GE to provide telemonitoring services to GE employees through GE’s Care Innovation technology.

Thomas said her company will work with insurance companies, large businesses, self-insured enterprises, hospitals, disease management organizations and home health companies to help care for clients with such chronic conditions as congestive heart failure, diabetes, coronary artery disease, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease and hypertension. She said the company will match, monitor and manage the telehealth process, from technology selection to implementation.

“It's important to engage patients, clients and employees in the digital age with the best, most efficient care available-and Advanced TeleHealth Solutions provides a gateway to the future in healthcare by providing the appropriate telehealth relationship without the cost of creating a new internal system, adding resources, or having start-up time involved,” she said.
