Intego Software recently donated a CommonPath nurse call system to the Brooks College of Health School of Nursing. The system, valued at $40,000, includes integrated software as well as communication and alerting components. Intego’s fully operational system, which was installed in the school’s nursing lab, simulates how hospitals use nurse call systems to respond to patient requests and improve patient care.
“Intego’s donation of a state-of-the-art nurse call system allows us to create an environment that reflects what our nurses will encounter in the real world,” said Li Loriz, Director, Brooks College of Health School of Nursing. “Nurse call systems help assure timely communication between the patient and the health care provider, and learning to use this equipment is important in the development of both practical and leadership skills for our nursing students.”
Intego’s CommonPath system alerts caregivers to patient requests and provides specific information to help them quickly and effectively respond. The reach of the CommonPath nurse call system goes beyond the nursing lab as Intego wired the hallways and student lounges in the School of Nursing. As in hospitals where Intego nurse call systems reach caregivers throughout a facility, students will be able to respond to calls outside of the lab setting.
